Revelations II - Particles, Timewaves, and ESP

Thursday, July 12th, 2007

This will be a work in progress as to how I went from Revelations I to the religioscience we now call the Quantum Temple. Before moving onward, one has to realize that I believe things do not have to be true to be useful. Fairy tales, metaphors, analogies, scientific theories..they all have had properties that made them “not true” but still were useful to get people thinking in a much more positive way.

The Non-Local Universe, the Universe that doesn’t act like Ours

It technically started when I was 17 years old in high school. I was in advanced physics and I was also studying college level advanced physics which includes some quantum physics. What I found the most fascinating was a concept called the non-local universe. The non-local universe is a well tested theory that says that any two objects that become quantumly entangled1 will share information instantaneously despite the amount of distance between them, faster than the speed of light. This struck a chord with me because I had been looking for a way to scientifically explain extra-sensory perception aka ESP. The non-local universe seemed to imply that if my body was hosting an electron that had been entangled with an electron that was currently being hosted by someone else, potentially information could be shared without effort.

Waves and Particles

Many years later a friend and I were discussing quantum mechanics2 and some of its biggest mysteries when he gave me a thought that plagued me for years. One of the biggest mysteries is how an electron can be both a particle and a wave seemingly at the exact same time and how electrons seem to jump from one atom to another as if by magic. Then my friend gave me a way to visualize what was happening in a way that was soo simple I could hardly believe it could be that easy. It went like this:

Take a pebble and drop it in a calm body of water and you get a ripple/wave, of course.

Take two pebbles and drop them close to one another and you get what is known as wave interference3.

Do it again and notice that this wave interference has some striking similarities to our current model of the atom; in the center of the interference there is a tight nucleus that hosts, in the case of two pebbles, two protons and as you move outward you begin to see something that looks like what we now call the electron cloud with the valence shells represented as well. Here’s a way you can see what I’m referring to: Go here http://www.falstad.com/wavebox/ and get to playing with their program. If you rotate the 3D box and change to different numbers of point sources, etc. you will see some images that resemble some from the image at the top right of this wikipedia page on quantum mechanics which coincidentally also happens to be referring to wavefunction of hydrogen, an atom known to tend to have 2 electrons4.  The point sources in the wave program represent the energy that the pebbles give to the water.

Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter.”5

He explained that all that was needed for one electron to magically jump to another atom was for the “pebble” to be dropped in another location but that this wasn’t all there was to this. This experiment implied we are energy and are only under the illusion that we are made of matter. Very Zen but wasn’t enough for me.

We are ripples in time and energy: Timewave Zero and Novelty Theory

Now there was a new question, since these waves would have to be everywhere, why was there still empty space at all, why wasn’t matter being created in all the blank space since all it would take would be for any two waves to interfere with one another. What were these waves made of that would only interfere with one specific wave? In ‘True Hallucinations’, Dennis and Terence McKenna link theories about the King Wen sequence of the I Ching, novelty, numerology, fractal nature, and resonance into one theory they called Timewave Zero/Novelty Theory.6 These timewaves are theorized to be quite different in that they are said to be moving backward through time. I wouldn’t even tend to consider such an idea since it sounds like pseudoscience but the fact is that the scientific community has been battling with the idea of the tachyon for years and while they don’t tend to think it is a “real” particle, they do agree that it travels faster than light and this would mean it travels backward in time so while the timewave may not be true, it’s useful.7

This becomes very useful when one considers that a timewave could interfere with a wave made of energy and potentially create matter.

Stay tuned for more on this subject. Most people will need time to digest this and I need time/energy to make it understandable.

  1. basically, 2 particles touch and begin acting the same but opposite []
  2. Greg, if you happen to read this, get in touch with me []
  3. the crests and troughs of one wave add/subtract themselves to/from another depending what phase each is in when they collide []
  4. since it can’t ever have zero electrons and it only needs one more to fill its outer valence shell []
  5. Yoda, Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back, silly but fitting quote []
  6. Oddly, the date that Dennis and Terence concluded would be the end date for the timewave was also the end date for the Mayan calendar though they developed novelty theory first and only discovered this afterward []
  7. I have other ideas that could be substituted for the idea of the timewave but thusfar it seems to work []
